Black arch removal

When I get my 84 cabby repainted I don't want the black arch plastic trim on them as the colour I'm going for would look stupid
I'm guessing this can be done?

they will be screwed or riveted on, just a case is if the arches are rotten underneath or no

I like the look of arches without the plastic trim
