Which radiator hoses for abf engine with mk1 gti rad?

Dropped the engine into the car yesterday and just wondering what hoses people have used to connect the engine and the rad up.

When I dropped my ABF into my '83 GT I used the original bottom hose and cut the top hose shorter to fit, looked OEM…

for top hose as above, but with top hose I flipped it the other way it seemed to fit better.

for bottom hose fit a mk1/2 thermostat flange then the mk1 hose is direct fit no modification
