hello from a freshly minted member, tho I ve had older Golfs for a while now. Rebuilding a basket case Mk1 Gti (to replace the one i sold 20 yrs ago for a ridiculously small sum) and need some floor pans. Easy enough, of course, if you're in the UK but Im at the bottom of the world and the full length half pan I need must trigger some sort of limit, because the 'long/heavy supplementary shipping' is - ONE THOUSAND POUNDS. Now there is a good-sounding cabriolet being dismantled here, and the guy will cut repair panels out of it, but before I got to the trouble of going to look at it, can anyone tell me if the cab floorpans are the same as the 2 door hatch? There must be some difference somewhere, I guess, to get the body stiffness. thanks in advance to anyone who can help!
