Petrol to diesel. Whats involved paperwork wise?

not 100% sure that this is the right place for this, but Ive got a 1.5 GX golf, and im looking at converting it to the 1.6TD lump from the Mk2. Ive got the lump, and most of the bits for the conversion, but i dont know what I need to do on the paperwork side of changing the fuel type.

Will it need an SVA test? What else will i need to do other than changing the fuel type and engine capacity on the logbook?

As far as i am aware you do not have to do an sva test. You need to change the engine on the log book by sending it back to them…

In my experience fuel changes (petrol to LPG)  have required an engineers report. I've just got my local garage to give me some headed paper and I've sent it off to the dvla with something along the lines of "I have inspected this vehicle and can confirm it is equipped with a X fuel type"

Ahh Okay, so it should be okay to go down to the local garage and get them to sign it off for me?
