MK1 20vt water temps

G'day Gents,

Recently fitted a VDO water temp gauge as a backup to the stock one in the cluster but noticed that the temps sitting at 100deg C on normal driving and almost hit 110deg C when idling. I'm still running the stock GTI radiator with mk4 expansion tank. The thermostat opens up as it should and fan switch on like it should. Just wondering if this is normal or whats temps any of you guys getting?

I'd say about 102 according to my dta is about normal.
