Hi peeps,
I've had my G60 flywheel lightened by 1.5kg by a local machine shop, anyone know if it should now be balanced before I fit it?
TIA
Andy

I believe it would be best and standard practise.

Cheers abf, found somewhere to do the job but they're telling me that I need to strip the engine and remove the crankshaft
Anyone know if I bought another flywheel and not bother getting it lightened, would this still be the case? Trying not to strip the engine as I've just built the thing

I guess they are saying the crank and flywheel need to be balanced as one unit, now hot golf or what ever he is called over on club gti sells loads of lightened/balanced flywheels, ive bought one of his but I don't remember ever hearing this. Don't see another flywheel being the answer either. I would just go ahead and fit it but don't take that as a suggestion, im not an engine builder.
