air ride

I have just purchased another mk1 caddy as a project and i wouldnt mind running air. i got a quote off one guy of £3700 i know you could use mk1 golf front air but then have to make it for the back, i have seen pictures on the internet and it doesnt look too hard to make, but then i came across the bag over coilovers for the fornt. Has anyone made these on here? doesnt look too hard to make and would be a major money saver

what management was that at 3700, digi or manual?

heard issues with popped bags with the bag over coil way, but cheaper fix if it does pop. you can buy airlift front shocks seperate if thats why you want to run bag over coils? youd still need management after youve bought coilovers (backs, again redundant) and some form of rear setup….

if it was me id buy a mk1 specific kit with desired management, sell the rears brand new and take the beam to smebody to modify it and fit the air myself, as its a project theres no real rush

the 3700 quote was for :

front airlift performance
rear airlift performance bags
airlift v2 management
rear beam mods
and fitting

but i think i am just going to do it all myself, like you said its a project so im in no rush

Think airlift/v2 mk1 kits about £2500 anyway man so £1200 to fit and mod the beam is a bit much in my eyes.
