you'll need them all pretty much, sensors, wipers, rev counter, coil power, fusebox earth etc

Hi thanks for the reply I'm trying to make sense of the mk1 loom as it's already been butchered by a previous owner so there's a relay cut in that wasn't connected to anything : ( this is what I've got so far

relay is for the low coolant level warning system, if you look in my signature link at jetta89.pdf it shows it in there.

yellow spade is oil pressure switch

red/white spade is fuel live, originally for WUR but for the abf loom it may have been used for lambda and/or injectors?

brown/white spade is earth to head for the MK1 MFA cluster, if yours is non-mfa you dont need it.

yeah lambda heater can be popped on the male spade hanging off e/14, thats how I do it and VW would have done it that way also ;)

you should have a thick-ish red wire from the round plug on the engien, thats injector live and should go to the large spade N

thats the one, pop to spade n :)

you only need 4 wires for an abf install, the last 2 are spares that used to go to the distributor:
1 - coil negative
2 - battery negative (tie this and the ecu earth together and run to battery)
4 - coil positive
6 - abf ecu pin 8 (red/green that used to go to mk3 coil)
