ABF head

Ladies & Gents.
Being newish to the MK1 family.
Is it possible to put a ABF  head on a DX block???
Or easier to throw the whole lot in…

I may have a ABF block coming up soon.

Kr head on DX block

The KR head fits the same as the ABF, the long and the short of it is yes it will fit but its going to be a pain to make it work.

I too have a spare ABF block and a spare KR block but Project 1 was here first

You'd need to swap the pistons over…….so there's no advantage to putting the 16V head on, just to save time/effort doing a 16V conversion. In fact its probably more work than putting the ABF engine (complete) in.

Loads of people have done the ABF conversion so its not really that hard, there's tons of info out there on how to do it and get it working properly etc.

 Thank you peeps for the feed back . I have been reading the posts about the ABF conversion. It looks the best option for me…Just gotta save some more shirt buttons.
