ABF engine heat shields

Post

I have got hold of a couple of exhaust heat shields for my ABF engine. One bolts to the engine and sits on top of the manifold, and the other sits lower, but it may be bolted to the chassis on a mk3.

Has anyone else fitted these to their mk1 ABF? I can't get the manifold one in between the intake manifold and scuttle tray so the inlet manifold needs to come off. Is it worth taking the inlet manifold off to fit this, or should I just leave it off?

Once I cet the car in the air, I'll see if the lower one fits anywhere.

Any advice welcome.
Thanks
Huw

Hi Huw
I have just had a abf fitted by crazy Quiffs and they haven't used any of them
And all seems fine.

Thanks Wayne.
I did fit the lower one today as it bolts to the block and shields the cv joint really nicely. May try the upper one if i ever need to take inlet manifold off.

i used a mk2/corrado 16v one, pretty much straight fit tuck bottom behind the brake cross bar and top hooks over the scuttle :)
