hi guys, im having some trouble with my golf had 16v 2.0 corrrado 9a engine in it….iv recently finished it but when out for a drive realised it was idleing rough and almost stalling coming off the throttle also wont start at a normal idle speed from cold  have to turn it up..all signs lead to faulty ISV valve …so I cleaned it made no diffrence …brought a new one on ebay only cheap one …pluged it in and now it idles smooth but really high even with the idle screw all the way down as low as it can go idles at 1400rpm ….don't know what to do ?

any ideas guys ?

Thanks jamie

Hi I think its kr as the 9a isv I tried had a different wiring plug …How could I tell ? ….iv also brought a kr isv and its the same idles at 1400rpm …found the part number for the one I have 035133455F and brought one of them used but its worse than the one I had so got to send that back too :/ don't know it a new one of these would solve it though ….iv got it down to 1200rpm idle with the old one but any slower and it will stall when revved

THanks for the help

if its on the kr managment then this thread will make a lot of sense:

if its 9a then it'll look similar but there wont be a WUR and you'll have a 2 pin white temp sensor in the head plus 1 black rather than 3 black ones and a big brown thermoswitch

hiya Thanks for that I shall try some things

I do have a wur and I have 2 sensors a blue and white wire going to one and a green and red and another wire going to the other …I did try swapping these around as Id read they are the same sensors and it did run different slightly better maybe does that mean a sensors no good ?

It is booked in for an MOT and they are going to check the timing and co for me so hopefully they will beable to sort it if I cant

Thanks Jamie

sounds like kr managment then, you will have 3 single pin black sensors around the side flange if so.

swap the red/yellow wire between all 3 sensors and check what the dash temp says, if one is miles off what it should be then this sensor is duff :)

yeah for some reason I have a white sensor and a black that's it….2 wires go to the white one …do you think I should install another sensor and run the wire to its own sensor …..the white one is the one that I suspect isn't working  or maybe wrong part :/

Thanks for all the help

you shoudl have 3x black sensors. 2 things wrong on your apart from that 1) white sensor is wrong rating its for oil temp and 2) you cant put 2 wires to a single sensor it messes up the resistance
