Being a 1.1 would you not need to cut and move the original mount fixed to the car, drivers side? I think the 1.6 and 1.8 cars already have the mount in the right place but still need a conversion kit to fit the engine to them ?
I'm guessing so could be wrong?

Yes you need to move the mount, drill out the spot welds on the original small block mount and move it back and through 180 to the big block mount. There's plenty of pics out there to show you where it need to move to if you're unsure.

for an 02a/j box you need post-84 mk1 cab/rocco injection 100mm shafts, also sometimes found on 88on 1.8 carbs. mixed info on this one (ETKA says yes, some people have found in reality, no)
later 02j have 108mm flanges so you need early/low spec 02j or late 02a 100mm flanges to replace em

You need need 100mm inner cv mk1 shafts, these can be found on post-1984 mk1 cabrio or scirocco injection models. ETKA also suggests post-88 1.8 carb cab/rocco possibly has them too, but not everyone has foudn this to be the case. The later MK1 caddy also has the 100mm shafts on the higher spec models so dont forget those on your search.
As I say other problem is sometimes the 02j box has 108mm flanges on it, so those need swapping for 100mm ones
mk2-4 shafts are the wrong length!
