About to brave putting the Golf back together and on the road for the first time in 15 months…. so the call to the insurance people…. Got cover for £89!!! Don't think I can top that anywhere!!!!!

       

Nice one! I will see what they charge now as it might be lower. Usually Jan and Feb are months where companies struggle to get sales. It would be good to get an agreed value though. My car is woth about £1800 at the moment. My tax has just ran out so I have just declared Sorn. My MOT runs out in March. I have got some saving to do so I can get the tax. mot and insurance before the end of March.Never driven the car yet because I had no insurance. Didnt want insurance whilst I did what I needed to do in the winter months so it is in tip top condition. Is yours a tin top or cabby? Pics please!

You've never driven the car???? I'll bet your itching to get out in it!!!!! Drove mine back after a friend had done some of the works for the MOT…Flexi brake lines and a CV boot (took him 3 attempts to get the right boot from the parts suppliers!!!)
Mine is an 87 cabby 1.8 GTI all white edition. Needs a bit of work here and there but had it a couple of years but been busy with job etc!  Gonna put up some pictures of it soon as I'm changing the roof…. had it stolen 3 days after I bought it but got it back…. with a cut roof and smashed steering column! But managed to get a roof off VWWinston so that is a job for a dry day…not many over in Lancashire I can tell you!!! So what model is yours then mate? Andy

Sounds like you got a bargain mate! I had a Mk1 Scirocco GLS years ago and only traded it in to get the now ex wife a new car! DOH!!!  cf_emoticons__BangHead: Yeh send me some pics -
