Not a bad price for having no NCB on my '82 GTi tin top......

After just buying another tin top GTi cos I regretted selling my old one I was quite shocked at the insurance quote I got. For the last god knows how many years I've always had multi car policies with my wife and I've always been a named driver on that policy so lost all my NCB I had built up. The insurance broker we were using said they didn't like dealing with classic vehicles and quoted a mental price for my newly bought mk1 golf so I cancelled the policy, did some comparison website action and Performance Direct come up with £179 fully comp with no NCB, upto 6000 miles a year and used for commuting to work and back!! Happy with that :-) ……. oh and I'm getting a free meerkat posted out for my daughter, everyone's a winner!!

Had heard lots of people claim the Meerkat were for their daughter/wife/girlfriend but I think we all know who wants this ugly little rat doll?
Seriously though, Performance Direct policy sounds quite reasonable and that is very unusual for insurance in today's world!

They may be good for golfs, but the bloke who has just bought my Mk2f Polo paid 250quid with them, admit fly that was the cheapest he could find but 70 quid more than his Polo GT!

I was pleasantly surprised about it!! I thought when I opted for the policy to cover me for commuting to work it would have been a crazy figure. I never actually checked for a quote without the commuting option? and PeteB I now have a second meerkat on its way as I've just renewed the wife's Mondeo via them too ;-)
