I no longer need an MOT but would insurance still cover the car with no MOT?
Just received my V5 with Historic vehicle status confirmed.
I was wondering if I'd still need to mot the car in order for my insurance to be valid.
I fully intend to get a yearly road worthy check from a local garage but interested to know if a mot would still be required. ??

It is very unlikely that your insurer would penalise you for not having an MOT when it is not a legal requirement. The same applies to cars under 3 years old. It's best to check the terms and conditions in the policy booklet, though. It will likely say you must keep it in roadworthy condition and/or have an up to date MOT when required For a younger car, the absence of an MOT might reduce the car's market value, which would be relevant if the car was written off without an agreed value
