I'm with elephant too, admiral seems to be slightly cheaper but elephant is owned by admiral anyway. Mines about 600 third party fire and theft on my 1.1 with modifications declared ie lowered, 19 with 0 ncm, got my licence about a year ago, insured the mk1 about half a year later.
when i was 18 i had quotes of around 2000, then went down by about 6 or 800 (cant really remember) with the gender directive then halved in price when i turned 19. I used Go Compare as i found that to be the best
Did you get a nice American lady on the phone when you bought it?
And as for declaring mods.. Mmmm I'll get back to you on that one….

25, female and I pay 1000 for my 1.8 cabrio. No years claims though ^.^
That's outrageously expensive! I advise you shop around!
Unless wherever you live gets a car nicked every other day ??
Im in Portsmouth, private car park and I'm a student teacher… And I have my daughter on there - under 16 so they know I'm not too much of a crazy driver!

That's mad, cab insurance for me is less than a tintop iirc!
Is that the best you could find at the time?

Wow, like I said before, quotezone.co.uk
It's ever so quick, I'd advise you to enter an unused phone number though
Let me know how you get on.
And I'm not going to drag on about how you really should declare you'd Mods, that would be hipper critical of me, but you really should! Although it depends on what mods you have, if it's just lows and wheels then you maybe be surprised
And a young lass driving a modified Mk1!! All things right in the world

Third party f+t is the only affordable way to do it.
Make sure you've got a woman on your policy too.

elephant's been cheapest now for my fabia that I picked up today but waiting until I'm 20 next week so even cheaper as insurance ran out on the mk1 friday which is no longer road worthy.. (don't happen to know of any for sale cheap do you or rolling shells? )
oh and if you go with elephant or admiral you could do the 10 month policy with no claims accelerator so get your years no claims after 10 months, might work out a few pounds more theoretically per month but will be cheaper than the 12 month quote
