Windscreen Wiper Motor?

Just wondering if it is possible to change the windscreen wiper motor with a newer (quicker) mechanism.. The original one seems to be a bit slow..

&& if poss.. is it just a case of the straight swap?

mk2/3 golf one bolts straight on, just chop a length of wire of the donor car and splice this to your mk1 plug using spades matched up to the wire colours. i think even mk4 golfy one fits, saw one in scrappy looked same to me

If its too slow then theres something wrong with it IMO.

Try putting some lube down the shafts ( of the wiper arms ) . They also sometimes suffer from voltage drop and or/dodgy fuse connections. Make sure you check all of those out before you write off the original motor.
