What should a 1.1 Rev to?

Just out of intrest what do you guys think my 1.1 formal e should rev to? I never really go past 4k to be honest. :) But what could it safely rev to?

It's a good question, but depends on the condition on the engine IMO. Peak power for mine for example is around 3500-4000 revs, when it's really pulling.
Just see what you can achieve, I v.occasionally but for the full experience take it up to 6500-7000rpm - i.e. drive it like you stole it !

Well its done 85k and has had regular all change all its life. 6500-7000! Cant imagine what it would sound like! haha

how do u know what yours is reving to, mine has a useless clock that doesn't even keep time.

yeh mine is round to 192k and revs quite freely, and gets loud, with no idea as to the revs it is running, does good motoroway runs, although more gears would help

Got an external autometer rpm gauge on top of the dash :)

Mine revs to 4k at 70mph.It will do 90k but that was just to see what it would do. :twisted:

it should do more than 90, weren't they rated at 103?

@daveforale i take it that is run from a trigger wheel on the crank?

Yeh it most likely would have gone on to do more,but you tend to run out of road in my part of the world  its got 150k on the clock and aint got time to start repairing or replacing engines these days either. :roll:

Nope i have it running off the coil :)
