Evening chaps, well the rebuild has started in earnest……..old exhaust removed(need to source new one),new filler neck fitted and now moved on to replacing some leaking gaskets, firstly the sump….fairly straightforward I thought…….but, quick question guys,do you need to remove the near side drive shaft to access one of the securing bolts?….also need a new sump as somebody in the past has cross threaded the plug….

Just unbolt the sump nothing needs to be removed

The reason I ask bugs, there seems to be very limited access to one of the bolts of the sump....just asking for any tips/advice from someone who had done it before......I know the rest is simple enough.........

There's a couple against the bell housing that should be Allen bolts that go into the end shaft plate careful when doing them up not to strip

Well, managed to replace the knackered sump and gasket with spanking new ones, and yes you do have to remove the offside drive shaft to remove the sump......
