1.1 formel e engine

i have recently put my 1.1 engine back together, all of the wires are connected but i do not know where these two wires plug in, as there are no places on the engine nor the gear box.  could some one please help… photo.JPG

I don't know where they go either but I'm bringing the electrics 'Guru' rubjonny because I bet a pound to a pinch of salt that he will know!  :thumbs:

possibly thermoswitch for the inlet heater? not really clued up on the old small block motors!

where do the wires come from mate? had a look on the motor but can't seem to spot those wires

its not from the reverse light switch on the back of the gear box are they??

i did think that but wire colours are wrong and they look to come in with the engien loom, reverse lights should be in the lighting loom

they are from the dash wires which show the fuel gauge etc

i also have another problem, everything is connected and wired up. As i try and start the car the engine turns but it dose not start, i done the timing with a test lamp and followed the mk1 golf book. any ideas what it could be

you got a haynes mate? if so go through the 'Engine fails to start' bit at the end of the ignition system section, could be an electrical issue and that might be of help

hello sorry for the delay……. yes i followed the book it says 1-3-4-2. and i checked for fault finding and there is a spark coming from the spark plugs. i just don't know what this could be i have changed almost every part on the engine….. cf_emoticons__BangHead:
