HELP NEEDED ASAP

In abit of confusion here..
so i bought my golf mk1 1.3 CL (which you'll see pictured below) at the start of january, turns out it has a polo engine in it not the original. I'll attach a picture of the engine, if anyone could confirm exactly if it is a polo engine and what year/model/litre the engine is? Im not knowledgeable with mechanics and i just need to make sure i know exactly what i have here. Also can anyone notice anything different about the engine? is there any mods that have been done to the engine at all?

If anything ever went wrong engine wise, would i be buying parts for a polo engine or the original golf engine? common sense say polo engine too me but i'd like to just double check..

Another question, so if i wanted to get a silicone hose set for the car, would i get a mk1 golf 1.3 silicone hose set, or a polo (or whatever engine it is) hose set??

Very confused and just wondering what else could be changed because of the different engine? would other parts have to be swapped to polo setup? eg gearbox, driveshaft, and just other parts? would they still be mk1 golf parts or not?

By the way, the picture is an old picture of the engine bay, it's much cleaner now

So all your parts engine wise would be from that car buddy. Awkward with silicone hoses too as the rad side might have been anything to get them to match up. 

Well I can't answer that mate but I'll tell you what, that's a cracking looking car you've got there!  

And I'm sure someone will be able to answer all your questions.

So all engine parts would be polo gt (if it is polo gt), anything else that would be changed to make the polo gt engine work in my golf? what do you think my best bet would be with the hoses?
