Hi Guys,
I have this carburettor on my 1.6 Golf Cab, when I Crank it over, it takes a while to start and when it fires, fuel comes out the top and it cuts out instantly, what's going on and how do I fix it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like a punctured float within the carb. To fix, you'd need to take the carburettor apart and replace it, then reset the flat height of the new float (by bending a tab and measuring).

HELP!
Identify the carb.
Ie Weber or pierburg
Then buy a rebuild kit with new gaskets etc.
And as Paul points out check the floats for filling with fuel this will keep meeting petrol in flooding the engine.

A rebuild kit typically doesn't contain the float(s).

Had that happen once on a toyota I drove.
Started and idled fine, but give it the gas and fuel shot out of the carb…
Collapsed rear silencer.
