Head Convertion
Hi there,
I have a 1300 and just wanted to know what would be the pros and cons of slapping a 1800 8v head onto it…
Also is it is a good idea, what would be the best mild mods to consider…
not really looking for race type specs only interested in some power for better acceleration…
Thanks guys…

Dont think itd fit.
Even if it did;
Pros-0
Cons-potential for loss of air flow velocity due to port sizes being too large.
Poor power due to above.
Valve sizes would likely be a no goer due to the spacing and size of them not fitting the bore, ie, theyd open into the top of the deck and bend them.
If youre looking for easy extra power, just go up to 1.8 litre engine sizes if you can afford to.

"slapping a 1800 8v head onto it" wtf?!
the 1300 and 1800 are 2 completely different engine designs! there is not a hope in hell they could be mated together!

He's in south africa though. I think they built a 1300 Big block so it may be one of them he is thinking of doing.
