ah yeah good point, oil would be running down below it if it was that. could be dizzy seal if its coming down and around from the side of the block? It's a strange one, if its not dizzy seal you could maybe take the mani off and see where the oil has been running from?
good luck with it though!
Yeah going replace rocker gasket and dizzy seal first and see if that sorts it.

check the oil pressure switch(es) they're round the back of the head near the diver side and can split
Thanks mate! I'll check that out too

And Im now 90% sure its coming out through the exhaust manifold gasket.

Its like the pressure is too high so its making its way through the seals? But the fact its coming out just above the exhaust manifold, does that mean the head gasket has gone, and hence oil is getting into the cylinders? you would think it would just go down the exhaust though not out of the top of the exhaust manifold…. Im just not sure now, think its best I get a professional over lol.

if its coming out the exhaust then you have a piston ring and/or valve stem seal problem.
if its coming from above the exhaust then its the rocker cover seal. perhaps the breather in the rocker cover is clogged up and thats why its blowing oil out of the seals?

Looks very much like its coming from the rocker though, you sure its not just leftover oil from before you cleaned it off? It does take a while to burn away.

So simply took off the exhaust manifold, put some sealant round the base of each exhaust manifold stud/bolt and then bolted it back up. Hey-presto no oil leaks. Such a simple problem!! but glad its fixed now.
Hopefully anyone else who has this problem can easily fix this too now.
