dodgy dizzy ?

car started running rough so put it down to needing a service replaced everything and am having trouble getting it to run.

now i have fitted electronic points but to get it to run it needs the timing advanced way too much and the same goes for if i have the standard points in.

ive taken the distributor off the car and have noticed a fair bit of play in the shaft/spindle …. have heard of other cars having similar problems with play and they have had to have a new distributor … was just wondering if the movement is normal on a 1.1 golf ?

Pretty much got the same problem with my 1.1 so any replies would be really helpful for me too!!

probs no help but if its a formel e are you running it on the 'good fuel' super octane or whatever it is. and if you are have you set the timing to a standard 1.1s setting!? i filled up from BP the otherday with their super octane and my car stalled at every junction until its had run through the tank,and now its totally fine again
