Choke not disengaging

Hi all,

I've a 79 1.1 golf, when its started from cold the auto choke works fine but when it's warmed up it tends to stay engaged on high idle. If I blip the throttle it will settle back down but it happens a fair bit.

Any ideas what could be causing it?

Sticky butterfly in the carb, take the top off the air-box, spray some WD40, or GT85 at the pivots on the butterfly.

Mine has been doing this recently mate, turned out to be the choke getting stuck on the bottom of the air box.

If that makes any sense lol.
