Carb Help !!!! please

Hiya guys,

Had a major problem last night coming home from shopping, the return spring on my carb snapped so car decided to rev really high and stay there. After taking the carb off iv sourced the problem BUT were do i get the new spring from its off a 1.3 engine and the carb make its pierburg.

Hi, try VW dealers first. Might also be worth trying a parts factor like partco or unipart - they sometimes have boxes of various springs etc. Also might be worth looking in a scrapyard. Just worth bearing in mind that all mk1 1.3's had solex carbs, the mk2 1.3 had a pierburg so possibly a mk2 carb/engine, which should be more common in scrapyards.

There is weber a replacement carb available for 1.1/1.3 golfs. Not sure if they're still available new, but do come up on ebay and in our for sale section.
