Can someone recommend a good quality Fan switch and Thermostat combo.

Hi gang.

I finally got the old golf (1.1 1093cc) running nicely so I thought I'd let it get hot and check the fan cuts in etc.

It got very near the red on the gauge and old fanny hadn't cut in yet. I shorted the wires and the fan cut in so I know the wiring and fuse is good. Also both rad hoses were good and hot, as was the switch, so it's all flowing well

I suspect the switch to be faulty……. so after all that, can someone recommend a decent temp switch and Stat for my car please? Heritage sell lots so didn't know which to choose?

What I recommend is that you buy a Switch and t-stat that matches, this way they will work together and not against one another.

So if you know the temp value of your t-stat then match that to your fan switch.  ie: t-stat 195  Switch should be 195 to 210.
