Belt Teeth

Decided about time replaced the belt and waterpump on my 77 1.1

Purchased the belt & pump without problem. When going to fit i noticed the teeth are different. The teeth on my existing belt/pump seem more shallow and square so I contacted my supplier who tells me i def have the correct parts for my FA engine code?

Thought I would go genuine instead but the part number for the belt is the same as an later polo 1.3 NZ engine. I have one of these engines spares and the pulley teeth are def different.

Presuming this means there interchangable?

is the water pump run off the timing belt on an 1100?

Yes most belts are interchangeable including this one. For some reason the pattern seems to have changed from the more squared/shallow version to the rounded type, this maybe was done to preserve the teeth on the waterpump from wearing prematurely?
