Cracking photos Bruce, lovethe one of neo283's "get you home style" filler cap  :lmao: and the contrast in the weather from morning to afternoon is highlighted really well  8) …….top marks for making use of the double decker bus to get those aerial shots  :clap:  :clap:

I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend, the camping with Bouchay and Nurseman, Dazzle, Yomp and Oldspice was well worth doing. Oldspice makes a good curry  :mrgreen: which went down well, Yomp supplied the logs for Dazzle chiminea which kept us warm, then Bouchay and Nurseman took all the stick off Bedford chick Angela  :dance: , Angela was a star in her own rights and for anyone wondering who she was, she walked from the dark side (Bedford CF owners club) at about 2.30am in the morning, carring a glass and a bottle of wine, wishing to join us in the Lotus club    8O  8O ……….needless to say it was a 4.00am bedtime   .

 Alarm clock was set for 7.45am, an early start, you may think, for someone already on the stand…….but this was needed to clear the aftermath of the night before  8O ….Yomp has photos to prove  :wink: ….so Yomp and myself had a spring clean of the stand area   ,just before the first arrival  8) .

Very big thank you to everyone that turned up on the stand, some of you came a long way, I hope it was all worth the effort and that you enjoyed yourselves.

We had a good showing in the arena, first of all we had the cabby's trying their luck in the Sports/Convertable category, but we're going to struggle against the MG (that eventually came 2nd in car of show).  Then the same cabby's were joined in the arena by the tin tops for the 80's category….this gave us some really good coverage.  A5OPY got mugged into giving an interview over the P.A, which he did really well at, bearing in mind he didn't know the guy with the microphone was approaching, the first he knew was when the rest of us parted like the Red Sea, leaving him stuck on the wrong side of the Arena fence with a microphone in his face  :lmao:  :lmao: ……fair play though he gave a good account for us, with no time to think up answers  :clap: (will post up video later)

With virtually every MK1 in the arena, it was a good thing to see bearing in mind I've never seen a Mk1 at this show before, we got a little silverware, with Yomp getting runner up to a Porsche  :cheer:  :cheer:

Then we had dinner, the the 70's section with Watson putting his beautiful 1979 Lemon coloured S1 in the arena, I fancied he could win something here, but was gobsmacked at the competition he was up against  8O , the judges had a nightmare picking a winner because there were so many gems, sadly Watson didn't win but he must have scored very well….a Mexico won the class.

Then corkygolf put his mint splitty in the 60's section, this also was a category that was full of stunners, a little favourite of mine was the Rambler, but it was beaten by a first class Austin Healey…..cant believe how many stunning cars there were in this category  8O

a few more categories came and went, until we had the Car of the Show award, this is decided by the audience with a show of hands (I liked this touch) and the winner was a well deserving Austin Healey  :clap:   Another good thing about the shows organised by Andrew Greenwood is any winner of car of show is not eligible to go up again for the remainder of the season, so this gives some rewards to other people who otherwise may have kept finishing second to the same car at their shows.

Then we had a category I was unaware of, Club Stand awards, which was a surprise to pick up runners up award  8O …..this aint bad considering the winners were the Police Car Club who have fancy flashing blue lights and sirens  

So thank you everyone who came along   :dance: ,  I'll be posting up my videos/photos a bit later on when I go down the in laws house to use their broadband connection  :mrgreen:

Great weekend. Wasn't so cold camping…… once the beer coats were on!

Thanks to everyone who showed up. Makes it more enjoyable when we get a good crowd.

Great for me to win an award in the arena, I don't think I would have got it if it wasn't for the fact that we all piled into the arena!  :clap:  Plus for the club to come runner up in best club stand was a bonus.

Thanks to Gammy and co for making us so welcome at the Malvern show. A hot cup of tea on arrival, and a fried breakfast each delivered to the car. Now thats hospitality for you !  All the cars on the stand were 1st class, as were all the people - a real nice crowd.  Well done to Yomp for picking up an award for that stunning GTI. and good to see Gammy go up for an award for the club stand.
We did about 270 mile round trip in the 1.1 and enjoyed every minute - a few pics. . . .

great pics watson!!! it was great to meet you and your daughter!! glad you made it home safe n sound! top marks for your motor buddy! i love it, real testament to standard golf!!

excellent show, really finished a great year for me, loved every minute of it, and it was great to meet you all.

These aren't the best ones, they're just a selection, I haven't had a chance to retouch any yet as my youngest managed to break his arm when we were at the show, poor soul managed to completely snap his Ulna and Radius just above the wrist and now has some pins for his trouble.

I'll sort the best one out and put them in the Calendar thread. Brucie mate you need to email me some of your shots so I can include them too.

Some nice pics T, errrr you a frustrated tractor fan i was going to do the same but the ground into the field i spotted was a bit soft and I had visions of farmer paul_c  having to come and give me a pull, so to speak
