Which tyres?

Hi everyone i always read the Q's & A's with great interest,i now have a Q of my own…….Does anybody know the exact tyres my '82 1.8 tin top no sunroof GTI would have come with from new,i'm trying to keeep it totaly original.I have an idea they may have been Dunlop or Pirrelli,but not sure,can anyone help?

thats a bit ott init?! they wont last anyway. i believe tyres are exempt from originality :wink: but im sure someone will help you out.

Michelin, Continental or Pirelli 175/70 HR13 were original fitment.

And out of those 3 i would go with the michelin, not a fan of continental and have come accross numerous cases where they have blown out on people and pirelli are prone to perishing so if its a car that will do limited mileage avoid pirelli
