Tyre suggestions
Anyone have suggestion wth regard to tyre brands or choice? Currently using Continental Eco EPs (175/70/13s on 9 spokes). Give good grip in wet and hot weather, but I have warn them down a bit to quickly
ops: …again
. Is there much difference between brands at this spec and price (?40-?50)?
Have heard that Pirellis are good in wet, but a bit soft otherwise? Seen some standard Mk1s running Avon tyres - what are these like? Bearing in mind want to keep wheel and tyre size and don't want to pay silly prices (?50 a tyre max), is there any other brands worth looking at?
Cheers

I was going to say no to the Goodyear Eagles! i had four fitted for about ?155 all in 12 months ago. I've only put about 6-7000 miles on them and I think I'll be lucky to get 10,000 out of them - and I'm not driving on the sidewalls all the time or anything silly like that. Good tyre otherwise.
Avon I've had on my B-EM and was well pleased with them. Good grip, long lasting and good control when I had a blow out on one!! 8O

I'ld go for Toyo Proxes T1-s. Great in the dry and in the wet, last long enough and predictable.
You wont be dissapointed. A+
Think there is a new tyre out T1-r but not tried them yet.

Superworm, what sort of money do the Uniroyals come out at? Will have to do mine sooner rather than later!

I've got Bridgestone B330's on mk Mk1. they are on standard 9 spoke alloys too. I find these pretty good in all conditions and were only 36 pounds each fitted

superworm- I thought that uniroyals were cheap s*it. Avon are the best tyres I've ever had.
markwon- If you what tyres whether uniroyal or Avon, go to Viking (for traders only, but they sell to anyone…lol) in Trafford Park Manchester. I got them for very cheap.

I got them for about 40 quid each from viking. The tread pattern also looks very sporty.
