Tracking drifiting out...
Hi,
Just had some coilovers fitted to my caddy (mk1 golf) and i put it into the garage to get the tracking sorted.
Went to pick it up today and the guy said that when he adjusted the tracking (only on drivers side as theres no thread on the other side) and took it for a test run, by the time he got back it had drifted out again…
He suggested the steering rack was knackered but when i got home i jacked the front end up and tested the rack, it seemed pretty responsive and no play between it and the steering wheel…
Any thoughts as to why the tracking keeps falling out, he said the steering felt very 'wooley' on the drive.
Shall i just replace the steering rack/trackrods, wishbones and bushes to solve the problem?
Cheers

It should be tracked then the wheels turned full lock one way then the other way 3 times then tracked again if its out! Then full lock the same again and its normally ok after that! Easy! Dont clamp the steering wheel!
