toledo engine
ive seen a nice toledo for sale but im unsure of the seat set-up. so i guess what i wanna know is does this car have all nec. parts to fit in mk1 golf gti 1600 (im aware i have to change an engine mount, not sure which tho)
and would this conversion require any specialist work or customisation?
any help appreciated
cheers

I'd say if you already have the Toledo, go for it, otherwise don't buy that car simply for its engine conversion. There would be plenty of other parts you'd need too (the Toledo, by no means carries all the parts you'd need) and with the extra cost and effort in sorting these out (ECU, manifold, cam, various bits & bobs) you may as well invest in a little more, and go for something which will gain you a much bigger % increase in power.
Of course, thats just my opinion, someone else may come along and say something completely different!

i see what your sayin, its gonna be an ongoing project so eventually itll be maxed any way. i think 16v is gonna be the prefrance atm, more tuneable and obvious advantages…

Its the same as anyone else, how much money do you have, what performance level do you want, what's the intended use of the car (daily driver, occasional road use, track days?), what skills and tools do you have, etc

Use your standard gearbox too, no real advantage in going to 02A (and the 2E in the Mk3 Golf GTI uses an 020 anyway??)
