steering and scuttle shake?
Hi can anyone put me in the right direction?
My recently purchased gli cab steers very nicely to the left, but is very tight to the right? Could this be ball joints or the rack it self. Could this also be something to do with the excessive scuttle shake over any small defect in the road? Are there any wear issues with engine mounts , or suspension mounts or the bushes? Its 29 years old so where best to start? There is definetly an issue if you go round a righthand bend and hit a pot hole at the same time! You can feel the steering shake badly with a loud type of bang. Sounds terrible I know but is it that its been a long time since I drove one last but I don't remember it being this bad?
Thankyou in advance! Simon.
Any suggestions would be greatly app

Sounds like you have the same problem I had a while ago. Is the steering wheel centered properly? And is the steering really heavy?
I'm no expert but it sounds like you need some welding to the steering rack. I think it's on the opposite side to the gearbox. A very common issue that shouldn't cost too much to rectify.
