new calipers..extra holes???

Hi
i have just exchanged my old calipers off my 82 gti 1800 at eurocarparts..they look exactly the same exept that they have 2 extra holes ,which are threaded and will take 10ml bolts ?? could anyone enlighten me as to what they are for ..if anything

ABS sensors ?

I think they are for pad wear sensors fitted to some cars with these calipers

my first thought was sensors but early golfs didnt have such things ..would i be able to screw bolts into the holes just to blank them off?
