Mk1 clutch dx engine

i have recently inherited an 1983 dx engined capaign mk1 gti. just wonderd how easy it is to do a clutch as i think it will need replacing as my uncle owned it from 2years old and it still has original clutch in and its done 200,000 miles! anyone done one before? if so whats needed to remove and replace etc? what procedure is best?
