Koni Shocks

Is it OK to use OE VAG Springs with Koni top adjustable shocks or are the Koni shocks shorter than the standard items??

i have a koni sport kit. thats the yellow one's. top adjust fronts. adjustable spring platform on the rear. not too sure on front. the springs however are a fair bit wider on the konis than the standard mk1 set i have in the shed. just thinking now tho, that the shed set is from a 1978 4 door. the koni is on my 1981 gti.
i am looking for some exploded diagrams for my shoks. the koni web site is inpenertrable.  

There the ones, but all 4 shocks are top adjustable not just the fronts. The springs that were supplied in the kit are coloured red and i think the ride is very poor, so i was just thinking about switching back to standard. If i remember correctly the koni springs were the same width as the standard items.

I too have a set of Koni adjustable shocks to go on(thanks little kev )
And too wondering which springs to fit :dontknow:
I would like to lower the car ever so slightly but concerned about ride quality too.
Everybody always says to use new standard springs and shocks

just adding that my springs are yellow. i luv the handling. standard sway bars, 195/50 15' tyres all round. cheap nasty on the back and Toyo FZ4 on the front.
i can hit the 40km/h freeway off ramp here in perth at say 100k's 5th. tap the brake, drop to 4th gear just as im setting up the turn. then pretty much throttle steer the sucker at 80-90km/h! complete with opposite lock if you want to show off. hehe.
i love my mk1 more than life itself. hurrah
