How low can you go?

I've just decked my golf on cups,  & can't see me ever being able to get over anything! Also it feels like it has no suspension at all! In you're experience, how low can you go, & still be able to drive it without planning you're route? :dontknow:

Personally 80mm but you really don't need to go any lower than 50mm for a good all round balance.

lowest ive been is about 110-120 on the front.

ride was awful but i could see some person being ok with that. the only thing that i stuggled with was the sump.

get a shorter sump and then keep it at around 80mm and it will be so much nicer.

Where are you guys measuring from ? Underneath of sill at front and rear or base of sump or chassis leg? Thanks

It doesn't really matter where you measure from, so long as its the same place before and after lowering.

For suspension lowering (which isn't the same as overall lowering - which also relates to tyre size) a good place is centre of wheel to top of wheelarch. Do a search and you will find the measurement for standard height car, so you can work out easily how much you've lowered suspension by.
