Help with standard front shocks !!
I`m changing the suspension on my Cabriolet 1984 back to standard. It has a 60mm lowering kit on at the moment, and with poly bushes it crashes and rattles over the smallest holes and bumps. Have bought all new shocks and springs, (standard), but the front shock is just an insert…. I have no struts to put the insert into…..!! I have to buy new struts or go to a scrapyard for them…. but they could be difficult to find… are they the same as fitted to the Scirocco? Otherwise I could go for another lowering kit, but just say 20-25 mm…. Has anyone else had this problem? If so what would you advise ??

That's what VW said about a rubber boot I ordered, got it the following week though!

I ordered a pair of front struts in 2003 and they turned up within three days of placing the order. The only bits that took their time were the eccentric bolts for camber adjustment on the bottom (only about a week and a half). Perhaps I have a half decent VW dealership here?
