Goodridge hoses MOT fail

After getting welding done and a few other bits and bobs I thought I's tackle the supposedly easy jobs today  :banghead:

It failed on one front hose being twisted during lock, and the other one 'fouling on any part'

I've just been messing with them and I have no idea how I can fix either of these issues  :dontknow:

obviously I can loosen them off, but when I tighten them they are just going to be in exactly the same position as they can't be rotated from their original position

They seem quite short too, is this just a thing with goodridge hoses?

Slacken the hose where it meets the metal brake line on the inner wing, without loosening the caliper side rotate the hose so that it is not twisted but clears the strut etc then holding the end of the hose with a spanner tighten the metal brake line, have someone operate the steering from lock to lock checking that it doesnt foul, if it does tweak it if its now clear move on to the otherside, bleed brakes when your done

Cheers smokey

Is it the large nut on the flexi hose I loosen or the smaller one on the end of the metal line?

Hold the flexi union with a spanner and loosen the smaller union on the metal brake line, may want to give the connection a good clean first and squirt some wd40 or plus gas in where the metal brake line enters its union in order to help the union turn without twisting the metal brake pipe

easier to simply take the caliper off the car and spin it till cable is sat properly. that way you wont loose any fluid or risk air getting in
