front strut diagram

I`ve had to strip my old struts down today to use the rubber dust gaiters on some other struts I`m fitting but I noticed that both sets of struts are built up different between the top cup and the main nut that holds it all together..ie some had washers between them/some didn't..can anyone post up a diagram of how they should be please ?
