Cheaper at your main VW dealer you only get inserts at GSF , your dealer will do the lot at a price that may surprise you . Try both !!

cheers Chud

Checked with the dealer and guess what - yep a little cheaper if I buy shocks, springs and topmounts together.

Said they would be about 2 days if they were in stock at VW.

He said they listed about 5 different types of spring for the cab GTI and I would have to look for some painted coloured rings on my springs - had a quick look but cant see any (suppose mine might not be original anyway)

Anyone else with a 89 Cab GTI know what colour s should be painted on my front springs

Just bought second-hand struts with shocks and springs inside from Volks-Apart in London… they are in vgc and were cheaper than the dealer!!  The springs are black… and they`ve put my 1984 Gti Cabriolet back to standard, and much better than the lowered Gmax ones i took off!!   Hope this helps !

How much did vw quote for shocks and top mounts etc.
I have a set of frt & rr genuine standard shocks fitted with new bump stops, eibach springs, new top spring plates and new top mounts. Not sure what they are worth though???
