hey up, you need to:

Unbolt the driveshaft from the flange
Remove the plastic cover from the end of the flange, this reveals a circlip.
Remove the circlip and then remove the flange from the box.
Tap in the new seal and then put everything back together

The seals can be bought separately from VAG as a kit, it contains the seal, circlip and plastic cover , they cost about ?20.

You'd probably be best off getting new bolts for the driveshaft, these also come in kit and are about a ?10 I think.

I replaced the seals on my box. Operation as Toad explains. Beaware the flange is likely to fly off when circlip is removed due to big spring pushing on it. This is exact opposite to Haynes that says you?ll need a hub puller to get it off!

This spring then makes for an entertaining afternoon trying to get the flange back on?.. (long bolt with length of bar to pull flange on but then leaves little room for fitting circlip) :banghead:

I had loads of fun on with the ?box out of car on the bench, wouldn?t fancy it crawling around on the floor in a confined space, good luck.
