are springs interchangeable?

i have a 1300, and was wondering if i could put any mk1 springs on. as i can get my hands on a nice set of springs off an 1800 gti, was just wondering if they'd fit, or wether they'd be too short.
they're 60mm drop springs, as at the moment, my car looks like it's had monster truck wheels taken off of it.

They'll fit yes, though you won't achieve a "60mm" drop with them as your front end isn't as heavy as a Gti's…
