Are Cabby calipers the same as Gtis??

indeed. later ones have slightly different carriers, but gti vented discs pads fit as lonmg as your calipers have 'VWII' cast on the outside

what happens if mine dont have the vw11 on?

if not, you need to find some VWII calipers. however all later mk1 1.5-1.8 had VWII, only the really early cabbies and those with 1.0-1.3 engines had the older style calipers

ive stupidly just bought 1 caliper which has the vw11 on thinnking it was the same as the 1 i have doh!

So looks like i need to buy the other side then get some gti pads

1983 rabbit but im not 100% sure iv ive got standards calipers. heres a pic;

well they're deffo VWII 'style' calipers you have there, pretty sure I can see VWII stamped on them at the bottom there?

worst case, yeah get another VWII caliper and its all good.

basicaly, all MK1s with that style caliper should have VWII, it was only MK2 Golfs and Polos that had that shape caliper but VWI, if that makes any sense at all?

The lower spec MK1s got a completely different shape caliper instead of VWI .
