adjustablr tie rods... both sides?
Quick one for you , to get proper steering alignment , can adjustable tie rods be fitted to both sides of a standard GTI rack?

Your question implies that you can't achieve proper alignment with only one side adjustable. However this is myth, this is how they were originally built. The steering wheel can be reset to point in the straight ahead position on its splines. Wheel alignment places seem to expect adjustability on both sides, which doesn't help things. If they need replacing, you'll get an adjustable nowadays for both sides though.

Thanks Paul . The car in question had coilovers fitted , and a different steering wheel , and we can't get the wheel exactly straight ahead , with the right amount of Toe. The adjustable that replaces the fixed one , is that a special order?

1 side adjust is fine, mine was miles out - 25deg! - when I added 1.5deg of camber to the car and rebuilt the front end with all new bit... quick trip to kwikfit to see the vw guys there and I was retracked to 0deg dead easy! then just moved the steering wheel round - it was out anyways as I had had it on and off loads..
Daily - 05 plate B6 A4 Avant S Line, with 19s for the summer.. wifes car - Rare Seat Exeo ST Sport 170 Tech
