1800 Gearbox on 1600 GTI

My 1600 GTI 5 Speed gearbox is due for a rebuild, i'm wanting to replace it with a 5 speed box of an 1800 GTI as it's all I can get at the moment.

Are these boxes and different. Will i notice anything different when driving?

Higher final drive. Will blunt acceleration slightly but will also feel quieter at motorway speeds, etc.

Ooh, blunt acceleration!

Oh well, it's only a temp replacement until the other one's rebuilt.
