as its is almost november is anyone up for a meet soon? any ideas on dates and places  :dontknow:

Yeah, we haven't had a meet in ages!  Last one was held at BVF if i remember 8O As SWM22 was a no go and was supposed to be at Taunton, i guess it must be Bristol/Cribbs on the rotation.

If we stick with 2nd Sunday of the month that makes it a week on Sunday.  If Bristol is a no go for most folks, we could change it back to Taunton (Harvester pub, junction 25 of M5).  The idea was that location is central for most.

Hux, bring along your car - you might get someone interested.

Deffo overdue for a meet.

I'm still very busy but hopefully will be able to come. I'll be working the 2nd weekend of this month but may not have to on the Sunday, it depends on how things go on the Friday night and Saturday.

The Mk1 hasn't been used for ages either. So it needs a blast. But another thing though is I wanna do up the other sill before I take it out, its currently nice and clean and dry ready for prep and paint.

You keeping her now Ross?  Might be an idea to change it to the 3rd Sunday in November.  Anyone else think thats a good idea?  Mines getting welded at the moment, quite a lot of work needs doing, so it will be off the road.  Will have to attend in the mk2 ops:

Yeah the 3rd weekend's a good one for me. I'll be up for going to Bristol too, its a mates birthday booze up there on the Saturday night.

Not sure if I'll be able to keep the car yet, its not getting any use at the moment so it seems a bit of a waste.

Blackhorse, what are you looking for, a tintop or cab, and what price range?  Hopefully Hux will have his series 1 GTI - that's a beaut and up for sale.  Sounds like Ross may be selling his too.

Ross, i know the feeling, but you know if you get rid of it, you'll only want another one I feel the same about mine but when ever i take her out for a 'blast' she puts a smile on my face.

Sorry we've been too busy with house move & business plan since Gaydon. The 1.3 CL needs a gearbox rebuild/overhall. Has anyone got a good GU box? The cabby needs some TLC and a meet would give me a reason to get out the polish. Please post the date and venue and we'll try our best.

Think we are looking at a week on Sunday. Cribbs or Taunton, what's the preference?

i would prefer taunton as i have to be in work for 18:30 that night but am still happy to come to cribbs if its there so in conclusion i dont really mind hth

Hi kriss, hows the mk1? I havent been to a meet in while :roll: , ive still got the mk1, and a 1.8 kr lump, in the process of the conversion, so mk1 off the road for a while, will meet up when its done defo :wink:

Dasiy/Darren still has the cab as far as i know, which is looking as sweet as ever.

Pete, nice to here from you again I remember yours being one of the sweetest mars red mk1s i've seen Loved that fresh paint job.  Also remember you saying the 1.3 was lacking in power - so that 1.8 lump should help a lot

My mk1 has just had the welding done.  I've managed to get a mint tailgate, as the other one was a bit corroded.  I should be getting sprayed up next month Also having the decals put on and new badges.  I've fixed the little bit of corossion near the sunroof and its getting a proper touch up professionally.  By time i finished all these bits n bobs, probably cost me best part of a grand    

Blackhorse, your pub is a great idea, how far is it from the junction :dontknow: I think it would be a great idea to hold the meet there.  What do you have, a cabby or tintop :dontknow:
