Fife Reg. Rolling Road,BBQ & Show n Shine night Aug 10th

After a bit of planning there will be a Fife meet with a differance happening in August.

Rolling Road , BBQ, Show n Shine and VAGCOM  night at Starperformance (Dysart, Fife)

Details

August 10th 2006 kick off time 5.45pm (arriving from 5.30pm)

Rolling Road will be in operation until the last car is done but will aim for around 8.00pm finish. (Rolling road only until around 8pm the meet itself will go to around 10pm or longer)Not sure how many Jim will get through but there will be scope for around 20 cars.

Cost per run

2WD  =  ?20
4WD  =  ?30

Everyone will get one proper run for this price.

BBQ

Jim is supplying a BBQ but depending on numbers there will be 2 BBQ's on site.

On offer will be:

Link Sausage Rolls
Square Sausage Rolls
Hamburger Rolls
Cheeseburger Rolls

Also Tea/Coffee cans of juice and bottles of beer. 8)

Costs of all of the above will be determined. Paid members will recieve a discount and non paid members will still get a reduction in price but not as good as the paid members. Paid members must have their cards on the night for the reduction.

Show n Shine

Will be judged by Jim/Brian after the rolling road is finished with. There will be 5 prizes handed out.

1            Best in show
2           Runner up
3         Best effort on standard car
3          Best BHP figure on the rolling Road
3      Best TORQUE figure on the rolling Road

Paid members will be allowed to enter for free (First 3 sections). Unpaid members will be required to pay ?2 to enter the Show N Shine.

VAGCOM

Got a VAG car from 1990 then you may want to have a diagnostic done on it to see if there are any fault codes on the ECU. Carl has kindly said he will provide this service and will do this either before your RR run or after it. Or even if your not running it may be worth having it checked to see if there are any codes on it.

VAGCOM can also do the following:

Change alarm,
Central locking,
Settings on the mk4/5 platform
ie,
One touch locking/unlocking,
Two touch locking/unlocking (once for drivers door, twice for all doors & Boot)
Alarm beeps/chirps enabled or disabled
Indicator Flash enabled or disabled
Auto hijack (Safety feature - Locks all doors once over 10mph, unlocks once key is removed - Ideal for women drivers & kids who like to open doors while driving along the motorway)

Cost for VAGCOM is ?10 (Carl has kindly offered to put money to the club from every run ?5 to Carl and ?5 for the club Pat on back time Carl thanks mate 8) ) Anyone wishing to get their car done should add their name to the list under VAGCOM. Carl will have a list of cars on the night. First come first served.

Also your in the right place to get it booked in to be fixed if VAGCOM throws up a fault code. pretty sure Jim will give you a good quote on repair work.

Membership

Can be bought on the night at a cost of ?10 for individual and ?15 for a family membership. If purchased on the night your discount will be available on the night and you will recieve the benfits of the paid mebers above.

Merchandise may also be on offer on the night such as Polo Shirts and T Shirts and Car Stickers.

There may be other potential things going on and this original thread will be updated as we go along. This is going up with plenty of time to spare so we can really promote it.

As this may be rather a large meet and the BBQ will need a bit of help I will need to ask for a couple of helpers. There may be some commitee members who may help out there but open invite for additional help.

One to help with the running of the Rolling Road.

So a checklist of who is on the road and organising who is to come on next. Jim will liase with this person based on 4WD or 2WD or by style ie all Mk.4 together etc. UPDATE COLIN T WILL BE DOING THIS THANKS BIG MAN

One person to help Lee and potentailly myself on the BBQ

Flipping burgers etc and taking in the money for the goodies on offer. UPDATE ANNE (COLIN T WIFE) IS GOING TO HELP, WILL NEED ONE MORE POSSBILY.THANKS ANNE

Guys n Girls both Colin and myself took on board your comments and this has already took a bit of planning to start to organise. (Colin may be stepping down but he will still be around) We want everyone who comes along to the Fife meets to enjoy themselves and hopefully by having a big meet like this it will be a good send off to the Summer.

If you are interested in the Rolling Road please add your name to the thread so we can see who would like to attend. There is no up front costs but please if you want to run and put your name down please try and turn up. Jim/Brian are helping the club out here and we dont want to let them down.

Obviously you dont have to do the Rolling Road you can come along just for the BBQ or enter the Show n Shine. Or maybe even just turn up either way come along and enjoy the night.

Worked out on % percentage not final score so pick your chin up and come along.
